Holga in Italy, 1999

Fantastic Plastic. It appears that Lomo has bought 'em out, and the Holga is now a kitsch novelty, wrapped in shiny colorful packaging and sold at Urban Outfitters. Photo-philes out there will recall that the cheapest way to go medium format back in the film days was a $20 Holga camera. Wonky plastic lenses and a meager attempt at exposure control yielded some funky and highly-unpredictable results.

Of course, this meant I was going to try to yolk the Holga into being a Hasseblad. The following shots were done on the street in Italy, at a market, maybe in Rome? The images aren't all that interesting, but I wanted to get a little more Holga into the universe.
