Clown on Main Street

Bar Harbor, Maine, July 4, 1998. My friends' band was participating in the parade and performing at the great once and former WMDI FM radio station that day. It was high noon, glaring sun, and the pix are both saturated and super-contrasty. This was VERY early on in my photography days, when I stalked the spontaneous and fearlessly shot people on the street. Metaphorically, of course. :)

In later years I would retreat indoors, to the quiet psychology of interior spaces. But in Maine, in 1998, I was the bane of clowns and small children everywhere.
